Before Dan and Debbie Sullivan opened The Book Oasis in 2002, they indulged their love of reading with a side gig. They sold gently used books at The Silver Lake Flea Market in New Hampshire for nearly two decades. However, when the pair both found themselves out of work in the early 2000s, they decided to seize the unexpected turn of events as an opportunity to make their love of lit into a full-time job — that's when they opened The Book Oasis.
The pair remains in charge of this local, independently owned bookstore, which specializes in gently used books sold at affordable prices. In addition to more than 30,000 books, the shop also stocks fun games for the whole family, unique greeting cards, and an eclectic selection of gifts.
